Five Bloomer Blackhawk track and field athletes competed at the state track and field meet on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1.
The Blackhawk girls 4x100 meter relay and 4x200 meter relay teams took first place in both the preliminaries and the finals at the state track meet on Friday and Saturday. The 4x100 meter relay team made up of junior Maggie Sarauer, senior Grace Post, junior Vanessa Jenneman and freshman Alexa Post finished the finals race in 49.61, they finished the race in the preliminaries in 49.22. The 4x200 meter relay team, made up of the same four girls, finished the finals race in 1:43.27 and the preliminaries in 1:44.87.
Grace Post also competed in the long jump at state finishing twelfth with a jump of 16-05.25.
In the boys events, Cole Michaelsen was the only Blackhawk to make it to state. Michaelsen finished seventh in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 9:54.34, and eleventh with a time of 4:33.22 in the 1,600 meter run.
