The Bloomer Blackhawks girls basketball team beat the Beavers and the Comets last week but fell to Northwestern.

On Monday night, Feb. 1, at Home, the Ladyhawks came back from a one point deficit at the half to beat the Cumberland Beavers 36–31. Tuesday night, Feb. 2, again at home the Ladyhawks took on the Cameron Comets in a hard fought battle that took them into overtime. Bloomer battled back from a six point half-time deficit to outscore Cameron 26  to 20 in the second half to tie the game at 47–47. With momentum in their favor the Hawks outscored the Comets 7–2 in overtime to win 54-49.

At Northwestern on Friday, Feb. 5, the Tigers outscored the Ladyhawks in the first half almost 2-1, leading Bloomer 38–20 at the half. The Hawks came back in the second half and outscored Northwestern 35–30, but not by enough to win, falling 55–68 to the Tigers.

On Monday night freshman Danielle Latz lead Bloomer with eight points followed by senior Leah Score with seven, senior Alana Helland and junior Abby Iverson with six each and junior Paige Jacobs with three points to round out the top five.

At home on Tuesday, Iverson and Latz were on fire. Iverson scored 18 points and Latz scored 16 points. Score put seven points on the board, sophomore Bella Seibel scored six and Jacobs had five points to round out the top five for Bloomer.

At Northwestern on Friday, Latz the Hawks with 17 points, followed by Score with 14 and Iverson with 11. Seibel and junior Madison Faschingbauer each scored five points and senior Kyla Schwarzenberger scored three for Bloomer.

The Bloomer girls had a bye on Tuesday, Feb. 9 for the first round of regional play. The #4 seeded Hawks  face #3 Unity at Unity on Friday, Feb. 12 in regional action.
