The Bloomer Blackhawks girls basketball team had a light week last week with just one game. At home on Thursday night, Jan. 30 the Ladyhawks defeated the Barron Bears 51-41.

The Ladyhawks took a sizable lead into the locker room at half-time after outscoring the Bears 32-17 in the first half. However, Barron came on strong in the second half and outscored Bloomer 24-19 but it wasn’t enough and Bloomer won easily 51-41

Barron’s Jada Brunkow was the game’s leading scorer with 14 points. Bloomer seniors Larissa Fossum and Emma Seibel tied as Bloomer’s high scorers with 9 points each. They were followed closely by senior Vanessa Jenneman and sophomore Abby Iverson who both scored eight points. Senior Cayce Grambo scored seven points to round out the top five scorers for Bloomer on Friday.

The Ladyhawks (10-1, 14-3) played Cameron (6-5, 7-8) in Cameron on Tuesday, Feb. 4; play Northwestern (9-1, 13-3) at home on Friday, Feb. 7; and play Cumberland (2-7, 3-11) in Cumberland on Monday, Feb. 10.
