Nineteen Bloomer Iron Hawks traveled to Appleton March 2 and 3 for the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association State High School Powerlifting Meet.

Senior Katie Rothbauer lifted in the varsity female raw 123-pound class. Katie squatted 144 pounds, benched 88 pounds and deadlifted 243 pounds for a 475-pound total and 19th place finish. Katie had a great year capping it off with a trip to state.

Senior Mattison Worsley lifted in the varsity female raw 123-pound class. Matti squatted 182 pounds, benched 104 pounds and deadlifted 253 pounds for a 537-pound total and a 10th place finish. Matti will finish her high school at Nationals in Alexandria, La.

Sophomore Samantha Tealey lifted in the varsity female raw 123-pound class. Sami squatted 149 pounds, benched 83 pounds and deadlifted 204 pounds for a 436-pound total and a 24th place finish at her first state meet. Sami will be going to JV Nationals in Alexandria, La.

Sophomore Skylar Zwiefelhofer lifted in the varsity female raw 123-pound class. Skylar squatted a personal best 182 pounds, benched 83 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 243 pounds for a 508-pound total and a 14th place finish. Skylar will be going to Varsity Nationals in Alexandria, La. Great accomplishment for her first year.

Junior Brynn Zwiefelhofer lifted in the varsity female raw 123-pound class. Brynn squatted 154 pounds, benched 83 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 265 pounds. This is Brynn’s third trip to state, placing 15th.

Sophomore Vaughn Zwiefelhofer lifted in the varsity male raw 132-pound class. Vaughn had a personal best 259-pound squat, a 138-pound bench and had a personal best deadlift of 342 pounds for a 739-pound total and a 12th place finish. This was Vaughn’s second trip to state.

Junior Emily Freagon lifted in the varsity female raw 132-pound class. Emily squatted a personal best 187 pounds, benched 99 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 254 pounds for a 540-pound total and a 10th place finish. This is Emily’s second year, and she is going to Varsity Nationals in Louisiana.

Sophomore Tavyn Jones lifted in the varsity female raw 132-pound class. Tavyn squatted 176 pounds, benched a personal best 88 pounds and deadlifted 198 pounds for a 462-pound total and an 18th place finish. Tavyn will be going to Louisiana to lift in the JV Nationals. This is Tavyn’s first year.

Sophomore Kaycee Schultz lifted in the varsity female raw 132-pound class. Kaycee had a personal best squat of 209 pounds, a personal best bench of 88 pounds and a personal best deadlift of 275.6 pounds. In her first year of powerlifting, Kaycee finished in sixth place.

Freshman Calley Olson lifted in the varsity female raw 132-pound class. Calley squatted 204 pounds, benched 121 pounds and deadlifted a state record 330.7 pounds for a total of 655.7 pounds and a second place finish. This is her first year of varsity lifting.

Sophomore Brock Haseltine lifted in the varsity male raw 148-pound class. Brock squatted 292 pounds, benched 203 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 363.8 pounds for an 858-pound total and a 14th place finish in his first year of powerlifting.

Junior Larissa Fossum lifted in the varsity female 165-pound class. Larissa squatted 204 pounds, benched a personal best 116 pounds and deadlifted 276 pounds for a 596-pound total and a 14th place finish in her second year of powerlifting.

Junior Annabelle Wittrock lifted in the varsity female raw 181-pound class. Annabelle squatted 187 pounds, benched a personal best 99 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 281 pounds for a 567-pound total and an 18th place finish in her second year of lifting.

Sophomore Madi Bergh lifted in the varsity female raw 181-pound class. Madi squatted 215 pounds, benched 105 pounds and deadlifted 237 pounds for a 557-pound total and a 20th place finish. Madi will be going to Louisiana for JV Nationals.

Freshman Mika Trottier lifted in the varsity female raw 181-pound class. Mika squatted a personal best 226 pounds, benched a personal best 110.2 pounds and deadlifted 237 pounds for a 573-pound total and a 17th place finish. Mika will be going to Louisiana for JV Nationals.

Freshman Lizzie Anderson lifted in the varsity female raw 181-pound class. Lizzie squatted 220 pounds, benched 88 pounds and deadlifted 237 pounds for a total of 545 pounds and a 22nd place finish. This was Lizzie’s first year of varsity lifting.

Senior Trey Zwiefelhofer lifted in the varsity male raw 181-pound class. Trey squatted a personal best 347.2 pounds, benched a personal best 220.5 pounds and deadlifted 474 pounds for a 1,041.7-pound total. Trey will be going to Louisiana for Varsity Nationals in his fourth year of lifting.

Senior Elijah Prill lifted in the varsity male raw 220-pound class. Elijah squatted a personal best 418 pounds, benched 204 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 468 pounds for an 11th place finish. This was Elijah’s sixth year of lifting and his third state meet.

Senior Carter Welch lifted in the varsity male raw 275-pound class. Carter squatted a personal best and a state record 606.3 pounds, benched a personal best and state record 363.8 pounds and deadlifted a personal best 617.3 pounds for a personal best and state record total of 1,587.4 pounds and a first place finish. Carter will be going to Louisiana for the Varsity Nationals in his seventh year of lifting.

Overall, the Iron Hawks had a great state meet. A lot of personal bests, one girls state record and three boys state records as a team, and both boys and girls finished fourth. Ten Iron Hawks will travel to Alexandria, La. for JC and Varsity Nationals.
