The 2021 Heart O’ North conference champion Bloomer Blackhawks softball team became WIAA Div. 3 Regional Champions on Wednesday, June 16 when they defeated Spooner, 7-1, in Bloomer. On Monday, June 14, #1 Bloomer had defeated #8 Stanley-Boyd, 14-2, at home to earn the chance to face #4 Spooner in the regional champion ship game. Monday vs. Stanley-Boyd

The Bloomer Blackhawks put up 12 runs in the second inning on their way to a 14-2 victory over Stanley-Boyd on Monday. Sophomores Karley Rada, Tori Jenneman, Delaney Zwiefelhofer, and Ryanna Keller, senior Kylee Sedlacek and junior Calley Olson, powered the big inning with RBIs.

Emily Kuehl led the Bloomer Blackhawks to victory in the circle. The righty surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out four and walking zero. Olson threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Bloomer Blackhawks tallied nine hits in the game. Zwiefelhofer and sophomore Laikyn Maidment each collected multiple hits for Bloomer. Zwiefelhofer went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Bloomer Blackhawks in hits.

Wednesday vs. Spooner

The Blackhawks grabbed an early lead on the way to a 7-1 victory over Spooner on Wednesday. Bloomer scored on a groundout by senior Emily Kuehl and a single by Zwiefelhofer in the first inning.

The Blackhawks secured the victory thanks to four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a home run by Zwiefelhofer and a groundout by Kuehl.

Bloomer put up four runs in the fifth inning. Kuehl and Zwiefelhofer powered the big inning with RBIs.

Calley Olson was credited with the victory for the Blackhawks. She went four and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out ten. Kuehl threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Bloomer tallied one home run on the day. Zwiefelhofer put one out in the fifth inning.

The Blackhawks tallied seven hits on the day. Sedlacek and Zwiefelhofer each had multiple hits for Bloomer. Zwiefelhofer and Sedlacek each collected two hits to lead the team.
