Last week, the Bloomer Blackhawks boys basketball beat the Fall Creek Crickets in overtime on Friday, Jan. 6, 56-54. Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, they fell to the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder 61-45.
On the road, on Tuesday the Blackhawks got behind a little in the first half, 28-22 but couldn’t silence the Thunder in the second half when they were outscored 33 to 23.
On Tuesday, Bloomer Blackhawk junior Domanyck Schwarzenberger was the top scorer in the game with 23 points. Senior Evan Rogge scored eight points for Bloomer followed by sophomore Collin Crane with six, junior Jonah Bleskacek with four, junior Jake Bleskacek with two and senior Michael Taylor with two.
Osseo-Fairchild’s B. Seefeldt was the top scorer for the Thunder with 14 points followed closely by B.. Meztler with 12.
The Blackhawks sunk five 3-point shots against the Thunder, three by Schwarzenberger and two by Rogge.
On Friday, in Bloomer the Blackhawks found themselves down by five points at the half but came back out and outscored the Crickets 26-21 in the second half and 2-0 in overtime for the win.
Schwarzenberger was once again the top scorer in the game with 30 points including four 3-point baskets. Rogge and Jake Bleskacek each had nine points followed by senior Karim Bah with four and sophomores Jayden Hartman and Zeke Strand each had two points.
Fall Creek’s top scorer was B. Vollruth with 18 points followed by L. Hagberg with 11.
In addition to Schwarzenberger’s four, Rogge sunk two 3-point baskets and Jake Bleskacek sunk one.
On Tuesday, Jan. 10, the Blackhawks (3-1, 5-2) traveled to Spooner for a non-conference game and will host Thorp (2-2, 5-7) on Thursday, Jan. 12.
