Grambo Shoots

Bloomer senior Cayce Grambo shoots for two of her 10 points against Northwestern on Friday, Feb. 7. Grambo went four for five in the 2-point range and also sunk two out of two free throws Friday night.

The Bloomer Blackhawks girls basketball team beat the Cameron Comets 44-41 on Tuesday, Feb. 4, but fell to the Northwestern Tigers on Friday, Feb. 7 at home.

The Ladyhawks and Comets battled it out on Tuesday with only one point separating them at the half and only three when the final buzzer sounded to end the game.

Bloomer senior Larissa Fossum was the game’s leading scorer with 15 points, followed closely by Cameron’s Kennady Sevals with 13 and Maddie Wall with 12. Bloomer sophomore Abby Iverson scored eight points and seniors Rylie Jarr, Vanessa Jenneman and Emma Seibel each had six points to round out the top five scorers for Bloomer on Tuesday.

On Friday, the ball just wouldn’t drop through the hoop for the Ladyhawks as they only made 12 out of 46 field goal attempts, including two out of 15 3-point shots. Bloomer did a little better at the free throw line making seven out of 15 free throws.

Jenneman

Northwestern’s Karsyn Jones was the game’s high scorer with 14 points. For the Ladyhawks it was seniors Seibel and Cayce Grambo scoring the most points with 10 each. Grambo made four out five 2-pointers and went two for two at the free throw line. Seibel shot two for two on 2-pointers and two for five from the three point range to make both of Bloomer’s 3-point shots for the night. Jenneman scored four points, senior Samantha Buchholtz scored three and Jarr Fossum and Iverson each scored two points to round out the scoring for Blomer.

The Ladyhawks (11-2, 15-4) played Cumberland (3-8, 4-12) in Cumberland on Monday, Feb. 10; play Spooner (0-12, 1-16) at home on Thursday, Feb. 13; and play Ladysmith (10-3, 14-4) on the road Tuesday, Feb. 18.
