Sister Frances Marie Lendle, SDS was born on February 28, 1922 in Chippewa Falls, Wis. and later lived in nearby Bloomer.
She joined the Sisters of the Divine Savior in 1938 and received the religious name Agnella. Sister Frances Marie began teaching in 1941. She taught and served as principal in Wisconsin and Maryland schools, and later assisted principals and teachers in schools staffed by the Sisters of the Divine Savior as an administrator. Sister Frances Marie also served as director of religious education and assistant superintendent of schools in the Diocese of Kalamazoo, Mich., and as director of religious education for the Diocese of Birmingham, Ala. In all, her work in the field of education spanned 52 years.
Sister Frances Marie died peacefully on June 10, 2018 at the age of 96. She was professed 78 years. She is survived by her stepsister, Marietta Burgess, extended family members and her Salvatorian Family.
Visitation on Friday, June 15 will begin at 12:45 p.m. at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus, 3800 N. 92nd St., Milwaukee. A remembering service will begin at 1:15 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee on Saturday, June 16 will begin at 9:00 a.m.
