Winter weather cooperated on Saturday, March 4, 2023, as Ridgeland hosted its first-ever Western skijoring event at Eldon Luer Field.
Organized by the village business community and Hillsdale-based Rocking J Ranch, the event included skijoring by experienced skier-horse owners. Participants could bring their own horses and equipment, or, if they only had skis, organizers provided the horses.
Resident and Ridgeland banker Kristin Huset offered the thanks of the community to Bo and Shane Jorgenson, of Rocking J Ranch, for their efforts to help make the event a success, and to Wirth Excavating for snow removal.
