A Holcombe man who was convicted of killing a Rusk County deputy is being court ordered to pay $40,723.78 in restitution to the deputy’s family and the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.

Doug S. Nitek, 46, was found guilty on six charges, including first degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon, by a jury on Sept. 25, 2018 of killing Rusk County Deputy Dan Glaze Jr. on Oct. 29, 2016.

The stipulation for restitution, filed May 3, orders Nitek to pay the following in restitution:

n $11,880 to Sarah Glaze, the wife of Glaze.

n $1,035.20 to John Glaze.

n $27,808.58 to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office for the replacement of the squad vehicle damaged in Nitek’s assault on Glaze.

The total in restitution is $40,723.78. The agreement of the stipulation orders 35 percent of any money deposited for Nitek into the Wisconsin Department of Correction to be utilized for restitution and the remaining to allow Nitek to use while incarcerated.

The agreement of the stipulation also orders 35 percent of any money Nitek earns while incarcerated to be utilized for restitution and the remaining amount to be made useable by Nitek.
