Council Approves Eagle Scout Project; Votes To Enforce 90 Minute Parking

This sampling of 90 minute parking signs from around town illustrates the need for new and additional signs in the current 90 minute parking zones before the existing ordiance can be properly enforced. The sign on 15th Avenue in front of Barlow insurance has the proper information but is faded and cracked.

Last week the Bloomer Advance reported that the Bloomer Police Department had started to enforce but then suspended enforcement of the 90 minute parking on 14th, 15th, and 16th Avenues (first block off of Main Street either direction), both sides of Main Street from 17th Avenue to 13th Avenue, plus 55 feet on Larson Street in front of Kelley Chiropractic.

On Monday, Feb. 17, Bloomer Police Chief Jared Zwiefelhofer told the Bloomer Advance that the police department will once again start enforcing the 90 minute parking beginning Monday, March 2.

Readers are reminded that there is a 90 minute parking limit from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., except on Sundays and holidays, on 14th, 15th, and 16th Avenues (first block off of Main Street either direction), both sides of Main Street from 17th Avenue to 13th Avenue, plus 55 feet on Larson Street in front of Kelley Chiropractic.

Zwiefelhofer said there is an exemption to time limit parking for people with a valid handicap parking permit when not in a handicap spot.
