According to Dan Lea, M.S., Public Affairs and Media Relations for Mayo Clinic Health System NWWI, “Mayo Clinic continues to closely monitor developments associated with COVID-19 (Coronavirus).”

“We are continuing to evaluate how to best align our staff resources with the evolving patient demand,” Lea said in response to an email from the Bloomer Advance. “We are assessing the situation at all of our sites to ensure we can meet patient needs across our service area. Given our commitment to patient and employee safety, we are currently deferring elective care and procedures, which has enabled us to redeploy staff and resources to COVID-19 response.”

According to Lea, non-essential employees have been asked to work remotely whenever possible to ensure the safety of our patients and staff who must come to our facilities.

“Mayo Clinic Health System is prepared to respond to any and all developments related to COVID-19, as well as any other infectious disease outbreak,” said Lea.
