Dorothy Harnisch, 92, of Bloomer has been busy making face masks for her granddaughter Ellen Harnisch Race who works at the non-profit North West Passage in Frederich where about 80 children 7–17 years old live full time. Ellen’s staff of about 100 workers is concerned about the corona virus. Diane Stavish and Mary Harnisch are helping Dorothy with the project. So far the ladies have completed about 100 masks but they have run out of 1/4” elastic. They can make them with cloth ties but they take longer to make and are less convenient to use. If anyone has 1/4” or smaller elastic to donate please call Diane or Dorothy at 715-568-3059. Ellen is the daughter of Gene and Mary Harnisch of Bloomer.
