Metsen Boutique Opens On Main Street

Sisters-in-law Dana Hansen, left, and Shannon Metcalf recently opened Metsen Boutique at 1120 Main Street in Bloomer. Also known as “The Front Porch Boutique” the business is completely contained in the front porch of the house. “When we are open you will find our Metsen Boutique sign in the front yard, and our open sign flashing in the window,” said the ladies.

Metsen Boutique is officially open for business at 1120 Main Street in Bloomer. The city council approved a conditional use permit for the business on Thursday, Nov. 7. The business carries women’s clothing in sizes small to 3XL.

Dana Hansen and Shannon Metcalf—sisters-in-law who love spending time together—came up with the idea as something to do in their spare time and to save people in Bloomer a drive to Eau Claire for clothing.

“We are moms with seven children between the two of us,” said Metcalf and Hansen, “we wanted a hobby that we could do for some fun time in our life. We came up with the idea to open up a Boutique as there are so many stores that are closing, and the costs of clothing is so high. We wanted to give Bloomer a place to shop for trendy and affordable clothing and save the trip to Eau Claire.”

The ladies came up with the name for their Boutique by blending their last names together. The “Met” came from Metcalf, and the “sen” came from Hansen.

“We call ourselves Metsen Boutique, but we are also known as “The Front Porch Boutique” because everything you need, including the dressing room, is in the front porch,” said Hansen and Metcalf. “You never have to go in the house.”

Dana and Shannon want you to know that during their open hours, you do not knock, you just walk in. They are ready to greet you with a smile.

“When we are open you will find our Metsen Boutique sign in the front yard, and our open sign flashing in the window,” said the ladies.

Metsen Boutique carries women’s clothing from sizes small to 3XL. This includes shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, cardigans, vests, jeans, dress pants, leggings, dresses, tanks, and more. It also carries purses, scarves, bracelets, and earrings.

More To Offer

The business has much more to offer, like Metsen Fixes that Metcalf and Hansen are really excited about. Anyone can sign up and pick whether you want a fix monthly, every 3 months, or every 6 months. The fix includes a whole outfit, and an accessory. This is perfect for the busy women that don’t have time to shop for themselves, it is like receiving a gift every time you get your fix. The price range of the fix averages between $70.00-$110.00.

And Metsen Boutique offers either in-home parties, or you can have a party at the boutique. The host of the party will earn rewards that can be used for free clothing. Contact Dana or Shannon if you would like to set one up!

Shannon and Dana also said, “Our clothing likes to get out of the boutique once in a while, so we let them! You may have found us the past few months at Xpeditions, Crush Nutrition, The Bloomer Brewery, Darla Day’s, and Krystal’s Kuts and Kurls. We thank these businesses for being so generous and letting us come and bring our boutique to their business. Who knows where you might find us next!”

And, for those who are wondering, the boutique does have a return policy. If your item doesn’t fit the way you wanted it to, you can exchange it for another item in the store, or they will give you a refund of your money.
