The Bloomer Equestrian Team rode in their first show of the season on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Wild’s Bills Arena in Elk Mound. The Bloomer Equestrian Team is classified as a Class A team and comes up against Chi-Hi and Menomonie teams this season. This year’s team is a young team with the majority being on the team for the first time. Making up the team are veteran riders Emma Rothbauer (senior), Brynn Zwiefelhofer (senior), Nura Ferrer (junior & BHS foreign exchange student), Lilly Kuske (junior), Emily LaGesse (junior), Jessica LaGesse (freshman), Frederick Blair (8th grade), Lauren Ruff (8th grade), Gracie Culver (6th grade), Addie McCracken (6th grade) and Illa Nelson (6th grade).

The team competes in both English and Western style classes and gaming and is coached by head coach Amanda Kuske. Assistant coaches include Gail Huse and Patty Hladilek. Without their dedication and efforts, the team would not have this opportunity. Special thanks to Melissa Klenke and Megan Kutlzer for their assistance and to Patty for use of her arena when the fairgrounds arena wasn’t suitable due to rain.

If you’d like to watch the Bloomer Equestrian Team in action, the next shows are Saturday, Oct. 5 at Wild Bill’s Arena in Elk Mound and Saturday, Oct. 12 at DD Arena in Mondovi.
