Bloomer Advance publisher Jim Bell has announced that beginning next week, Nov. 6, the newsstand price of the Bloomer Advance will increase a quarter from $1 to $1.25 per issue.

“It’s been 8 years since the last price increase on over-the-counter sales,” Bell said.

“The cost of printing and gathering the news has gone up substantially since 2011, and the price increase reflects that. But subscription prices will remain the same. The cost of an in-county mailed subscription remains $27.00 per year, which will save readers $38.00 per year off the newsstand price.

All the Bell-owned weekly newspapers (Chetek, Barron, Bloomer and Ladysmith) will see a price increase on the newsstands over the next month,” Bell said.
