After 33 years, Brian Bleskacek is retiring from the Bloomer Fire Department. Brian has been a true leader in this community since he became Fire Chief in 2001. He has helped and supported many people in the community and was a huge advocate for the Bloomer Fire Department.
Brian worked hard to create a strong foundation for the department. He was actively involved in managing the Bloomer Skating Rink, interacting with school children for field trips to the fire station, responding to thousands of calls to help many loved ones, and helping and interacting with the community anyway he could.
Brian is also a huge inspiration to his children. Three of his four children have followed in their dad’s footsteps. They remember taking trips to the fire hall and riding on the fire trucks. Brian’s fire fighting legacy will live on through the eyes of Brady, Billy and Redgy. Brady is currently a fire lieutenant for the City of Menomonie Fire Department, Billy is currently a fire safety officer for the Bloomer Fire Department, and Redgy is a firefighter for the City of Hayward Fire Department.
Brian started the student program to get high school students involved in the volunteer fire department. Brady, Billy and Redgy all started their love for fire fighting in Bloomer being involved in the fire student program. Many other high school students were able to be active in this program and have formed a strong foundation for Bloomer Fire Department.
Fire is in their blood.
Thank you Brian for all your years of service and leadership for the Bloomer Community!
